Each of the 92 clubs can only be selected twice per season, once when playing at home and once when playing away.

selected and will be available to be selected again should there still be time left in the season.

END OF THE SEASON
The winner of each division shall be the competitor who has the highest number of points.
For those on equal points then the best goal difference shall decide the winner.
If goal difference is equal then those on equal points the most goals scored shall be declared the winner.
If goals scored is equal then those on equal points the most amount of wins will decide the winner.
If most wins is equal then those on equal points the most 6 pointers (winning both home and away when selected) will be the winner.
If 6 pointers is equal then those on equal points the most clean sheets (no goals scored against selected clubs) will be the winner.
If it is still equal then the result will be a tie.

THE DEADLINE FOR SELECTIONS
Selections can be submitted at any time, but the deadline for each weekend will be 8am on each Friday.
Once the deadline has passed no selections can be submitted for that coming weekend.
THERE IS NO EXCEPTION TO THIS RULE.

If for any reason any of the top four leagues decide to abandon a season then the DFC season will also
be abandoned unless the last weekend has been played.

Promotion, Relegation, The 80/80 Rule and Qualification
PROMOTION & RELEGATION
At the time of writing (20/06/23) we have 40 competitors planning to take part in DFC XVII.
If this happened then promotion/relegation would go like this.

Gold - bottom 3 relegated to Silver.

Silver - top 5 promoted to Gold, bottom 3 relegated to Bronze.

Bronze - top 7 promoted to Silver.

As the exact numbers taking part is unknown, the above may need to be adjusted to try to even out the number
of competitors taking part in each division the following season. This will become clearer as the season progresses.

Should any competitor fail the 80/80 Rule (see below) they will automatically be relegated to the Bronze Division, even if they are currently in the Gold Division.

THE 80/80 RULE
Competitors must have played at least 80 home games and 80 away games in the current season.
However, this is assuming that at least one competitor, in their division, manages to play the maximum 92 home and 92 away games. If not, then the highest number of home/away games played by any competitor, in their division, minus 12 will be the new ruling.
For example: If the highest number of home games played by a competitor in their division is 91 and the highest number of away games played by a competitor in their division is 88, then the 80/80 Rule will effectively become the 79/76 Rule for that division. Each division could have it's own rule.

QUALIFYING FOR THE CHAMPIONS KNOCKOUT
There are eleven ways to qualify for the Champions Knockout and in this order.
1. The current seasons Champions Knockout winner.
2. The current winner of the ARFA Trophy competition. If the winner is the same as the Champions Knockout winner then the runner up in the ARFA Trophy will qualify.
3. The highest placed competitor in the League Two table, not already qualified.
4. The highest placed competitor in the League One table, not already qualified.
5. The highest placed competitor in the Championship table, not already qualified.
6. The highest placed competitor in the Premier League table, not already qualified.

9. The highest placed competitor in the Bronze table, not already qualified.
10. The highest placed competitor in the Silver table, not already qualified.

All of the eleven ways to qualify for the Champions Knockout are dependent on if the 80/80 Rule (see above) is met.
